kinza is a hidden gem in scv. the place itself is not really big so there are times there is a wait. however, it's worth the wait. the fish is always high quality! I get the 911 roll and add cucumber, it's so good. the staff is always friendly too.
Super friendly service and delicious food! All the servers give attention to every table which was refreshing. We had soju martinis - Peach & Apple). They were wonderful! For dinner I had the 911 roll (spicy tuna & avocado) and udon rice noodles with chicken. Hubby had the Japanese Pizza appetizer & tempura. Everything came up surprisingly fast and was well seasoned and tasty. The place is small. A party of 4 or less would be best. They had an upstairs with more tables but we didn't go up to look at that space. One server had a very deep voice and I told him he sounded like a DJ. He said he is. I asked him if he was responsible for the nice R&B music playing and he said yes that was all him.
Best sushi place in SCV! Learned about this place after going for a friend's birthday dinner after spending the afternoon at Six Flags. It's very close to the 5 so a convenient place to stop for sushi. They're always busy with takeout orders and dine-in customers, but don't let that deter you -- they usually turn over tables quickly (without rushing you). Place is no-frills and small, with a sushi bar and regular tables (including a few booths) with some outdoor seating. The staff is always hustling and the food usually comes out quickly. All of their specialty rolls are great; you can't go wrong. I usually get their spicy tuna crispy rice appetizer, along with several of their "spicy" specialty rolls (they're not actually spicy, at most they have a good kick but usually it means there are jalapenos as accents). Their regular, non-specialty rolls are pretty standard, nothing to write home about, but their specialty rolls are where they really shine. Their hand rolls are also excellent. Prices are reasonable.
After a full day of dirt biking in Gorman, we were craving some top-tier sushi and decided to make a pit stop at Kinza Sushi on our way-ish back to Ventura. This place had been on my radar for months, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The menu is impressively extensive, and although we had to wait a bit for a table, it was understandable for a large group just before closing. Plus, the bustling atmosphere was a great sign! The sushi was beyond and every bite confirmed that this detour was a brilliant decision. I was especially fond of the perfect searing on the fish. Our favorites were the Sexy Lady roll, the Bailey Special Roll, and the Unagi and Toro Sushi. The Unagi was probably the best I've ever had -- Just perfectly barbecued. I was so impressed with the quality of every dish, I remember thinking "Even the RICE is elevated!" The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, ideal for unwinding with friends. I'm already looking for an excuse to go back! If you're in Stevenson Ranch and craving exceptional sushi, I highly, highly recommend this place!
First time trying this spot. Pretty good! Good customer service and the food is bomb. Thank you for good food and service.
